{farmers’ markets: know’em, love’em}

If I could get everything at the Farmer’s Market, I would. There is something about them…even if you go just to piddle around, soak up the sun, the hot hot air and the local energy, it’s always worth the trip. I won’t lie, we have had some HOT days recently and it makes you appreciate the hard work that goes into this living that our local farmers take such pride in.

If you are lucky enough to have one in your city, home, town…go support them! The food is always better, and you actually know WHERE it comes from!

Over the last few summers, I have gotten great inspiration from the people (and the food) and have continued to add to a “farmer’s market” series…check them out! I am excited to say, a few of these guys are headed up to the Big Apple soon. My big shot/ole pal/roomie/Savannah native, Liz, has just landed a fabulously fancy job as Director of Communications for the CBS Evening News with Katie Couric (yeah, as Katie’s publicist) and is adorning her new office with some of these Southern food faves! And for those in Charleston, you can see them at my favorite local eatery in town–Caviar & Bananas.

Perfect for the kitchen, 1/2 bath that needs a little “umph”, NYC studio apt (for Southerners missing home)…you name it, they come in postcard sizes too! Option for framing is available–frames are made from recycled wood with a white wash stain.
